Fig's Corner – A Second Visit That Completely Changed My Mind This was my second visit to Fig's Corner, located on the corner of 30th Street and Figueroa. My first visit was about two years ago, and it was actually my first time ever trying hot pot. Unfortunately, I made the rookie mistake of taking a bite too soon and burned my tongue, so I never really got to appreciate the flavors. Because of that, I left feeling unsure about the experience. I'm glad I decided to give it another chance because this visit was completely different. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere that's clean, modern, and welcoming. The service is simple but efficient. They hand you a menu with checkboxes, you mark everything you want, and the staff brings it out to your table. To start, I ordered the cucumber salad, and it was fantastic. It was crisp, refreshing, and tossed with what tasted like chili crisp, soy sauce, and other flavorful seasonings. I also ordered the lamb skewers. They were small, but they packed an incredible amount of flavor. Every bite was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Great spot for Taiwanese-style individual hot pot near USC. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and very solo-dining friendly, and ordering is easy with a check-off menu. The hot pots are a great deal at $17.99 — generous portions with meat, veggies, rice, and noodles, and the broth gets more flavorful as it cooks. We also liked the skewers and small bites, and the shot cocktails were fun to share. Affordable, comforting, and perfect for a quick meal after class or work. I’ll definitely be back.

I found this spot near USC recently and it’s honestly such a fun place to hang out at night. The vibe is what got me first — industrial style with neon lights and good music. It gets even better later at night. Perfect for coming with friends, ordering skewers and drinks, playing dice games, and just chilling. They have big tables and booths, so groups of 6–8 can sit comfortably. Food-wise, it’s great bar food to go with drinks: • The grilled chicken wings were juicy inside with crispy skin and very flavorful marinade. • The skewers (lamb, pork belly, beef) were all tender and well-seasoned. • The cheesy corn in foil was sweet, creamy, and a nice break between savory bites. • We also tried the golden broth beef pot — super comforting and perfect for colder nights. Hidden gem alert near USC! 🔥 $17.99 for a personal hot pot that’s actually huge. Tried the Signature Beef and Tomato Beef pots, both packed with meat and veggies—comes with rice AND glass noodles, so you’ll definitely leave full. The skeletons are so good, especially the cumin lamb and charred cabbage. Crispy wings were a hit with the kids too.
